Coated abrasives contain abrasive grains held together in a matrix of glass, resin, rubber, or other binders. They are called “coated” because a coating of adhesive is applied to the backing to anchor a single layer of abrasive grain. Coated abrasives are available in sheets, rolls, discs and belts and are used primarily for finishing and light-to-medium grinding. They are used to remove surface materials such as metal, ceramics, glass, plastics, and paint. Coated abrasives are used in both grinding wheels and abrasive stones or sticks. Grinding wheels are used in a variety of applications and industries, while abrasive stones or sticks are used for sharpening edges and honing internal or external surfaces.

Narrow Belts

Nandhi’s narrow belts for back stand machines are available in diﬀerent sizes and grits for most dimensioning, intermediate grinding and polishing applications on metal or wood. Common applications where Nandhi narrow belts are used include heavy stock removal, grinding and deburring of all metals, blending, dimensioning, shaping and polishing.

Portable Belts

Segmented Belts

Cloth and heavy paper sanding belts are readily available from stock for plate dimensioning, slag grinding, machining and deburring in the metal working industries and intermediate sanding, plaining & dimensioning in the production of chipboard.

Disc

Conventional and non-woven discs are available to ﬁt diﬀerent types of machine including right angle grinders, die grinders, mini grinders, orbital and disc sanders. Surface Conditioning Disc

Surface conditioning discs are commonly used on an angle grinder for removing surface defects, light edge burrs, ﬂashing as well as cleaning rust, corrosion, paint and scale, moulds and blending mill marks and uneven edges.

Fiber Disc

Nandhi’s ﬂap discs are engineered for multiple applications including light stock removal, edge chamfering, deburring, paint & rust removal, cleaning blending and ﬁnishing, meaning they can help reduce processing time & lower cost.

Flat Non Woven Disc

Nadhi’s Non-woven discs are Made from a strong nylon web impregnated with abrasive grain and resin, ﬂat non-woven discs are designed for demanding operations on a wide range of materials. Producing a light satin ﬁnish, these discs are the ideal choice for rust, oxide & coating removal, ﬁnishing stainless steel cutlery, root ﬁnishing of titanium turbine blades and cleaning moulds and castings. Can be used on a static pedestal grinder or portable straight/die grinder.

Non-Woven Rolls

Non-woven rolls are typically used in jitterbug sanding or while hand sanding. Some of the most common applications include light de-burring, cleaning and giving decorative ﬁnish. Available under the Bear-tex brand Norton Non-Woven Rolls are the most widely used products for the applications mentioned.
